Double Dog Dare Challenge

I am willing to try anything..Well, almost anything to get the scale to move..
I know for a fact that ingesting more water is not only a healthier way to live but it can also help to drop the pounds. But it is harder said then done. A while back I decided that I would shoot for at least 90 Ounces of Water per day. The way I was going to do this was by drinking 30 ounces between meals. I have this great water jug that I got from Weight Watchers a few years ago and on the jug it has ounces 32 to be exact. So it makes it really easy to keep track of ounces.Well this only lasted for a few days. Like most things..So clearly that did not work.

A friend of mine Trish told me about a blog called Almost Gastric Bypass. He is doing a water challenge called Double Dog Dare challenge. On this challenge he works out for you what your water intake should be and even your calories for the day. How he has figured this out I am not sure yet.
But today was day one..So I started by having 30 ounces this morning and I am working on my second.
I am suppose to consume 108 ounces for optimal weight loss. I could easily have downed all my water this afternoon. But then I started thinking..Maybe I should try and spread it out through out the day. That way the water will flush out dinner calories etc..So I am gonna pace myself.

I have been really struggling with the scale. So it will be very interesting to see what happens with the scale.
I have my concerns. For one I think my calories are a bit high. Since I have MS (Multiple Sclerosis) I am pretty sedentary. I probably won't work off calories like some people will be able to. So I may need to have that adjusted. So we will see..

My weigh day has been on Wednesdays. But with this challenge it is on Sundays. So not sure yet what to do there. I liked having the 3 days to recover for anything that occurred over the weekend. But having my weigh day be on Sunday may help to keep me in check.

Looking forward to seeing some results!

  1. Good evening Renea. I just spent the last 20 minutes or more reading your blog back to the beginning. I am stopping by from Allan's Double Dog Dare Challenge. I am here to cheer you on, to give you all the support I can to help you achieve your goals. This life style change is hard but in the end will be rewarding. You do have your hands full with your MS but you're going to have to not let it rule you, you are going to have to rule it. I worked with two ladies while I was a rehab aid that both had MS. One in very bad shape and another just a few years into her diagnoses. I know how hard it can be and how other days it's managable. On those days you're going to have to kick butt and work hard, on the days it's not, take extra good care of yourself and wait for your next great break.
I know you can do this, I know with lots of hard work you can get to where you want to be. Remember it's a life style change, it's not a diet. Diets come and go, a life style change is forever. One day at a time, one moment at a time when it needs to be. Keep a schedule, work on it each day and you will achieve.
Take care Renea and have a blessed evening.

  2. Thank You for your Comment and for reading my Blog.
It has been rough. I was not going to start this till I knew I was ready. All Those times in the past I either was not ready or Weight Watchers was just not for me because every time i quite i was doing that diet. I once again started it again. But this time when i quit counting points. I just kept eating the same food. Now I am counting calories. It's amazing how it adds up.LOL
But I am so ready this time. So regardless if I have a bad week. I just keep going. When i started this I told myslef that once I passed the 200 Pound mark I was NEVER going back. That has kept me going and in the process i get further and further away.
    Have a great day!
